Course overview

This one year course is a shorter, top-up version of our popular BA (Hons) Business and Management degree. It builds on what you’ve learned in your foundation degree, focusing on entrepreneurship and the skills you’ll need to start and run your own business. 

You’ll learn how to critically analyse business plans and make choices that will grow the value of your company. It covers how to plan and pitch an idea and the steps that go into creating new businesses. The course includes work-based practice in a company you choose and a range of assessments for each module.

As a graduate from this course, you’ll come away with excellent skills and knowledge in all areas of business, management and entrepreneurship.

You’ll learn how business become successful, how to manage business operations, how to make informed decisions, how to lead change in organisations and how to start your own business.

When you finish your degree, you’ll be able to create and run your own company or step into leadership and management roles in a wide range of industries around the world. This can include high-level positions in business analysis, account management and financial analysis.

Modules

You’ll be taught through lectures, seminars, group work and e-learning. Marks will be given based on written exams, case studies, assignments and reports.

Plus you’ll need to do independent work, taking on more responsibility for your studies and focusing your learning around your interests and career goals.
