On our Biochemistry (including foundation year) BSc (Hons) course you’ll develop theoretical and practical skills, allowing you to analyse and understand biochemical information and data. This will also raise your awareness of the social and ethical dimensions in which contemporary biochemistry operates.
Your foundation year will focus on equipping you with essential study skills and fundamental scientific knowledge, so that you can gain the confidence and improve skills that will help you succeed at undergraduate level. This preparatory year will introduce you to basic mathematical concepts and laboratory techniques related to life sciences. Some of this teaching will take place in our state-of-the-art Science Centre, which is one of the biggest and most teaching lab of its kind in Europe.
at least one A level (or a minimum of 32 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification, eg BTEC Subsidiary/National/BTEC Extended Diploma)
English Language and Mathematics GCSEs at grade C (grade 4) or above (or equivalent eg Functional Skills at Level 2). Applicants who meet the UCAS points criteria but who obtained a D (grade 3) in English and/or Maths at GCSE may be offered a University test in these areas
The highlight of my time at London Met so far has been using the resources made available by the University, especially the careers department, along with the skills obtained on my degree to successfully secure an intern finance position in my first year.
